BLUE LAGOON
Holistic Therapies
Massage, Reflexology, Indian Head, Hopi Ear Candles & Reiki

Massage
Massage relieves the tension that we all hold within our muscles - deep tissue massages can release tight muscles and at a deeper level the massage releases the personal history we have stored in our body tissue.
Due to our muscles holding tension and each individual wanting a different result or area worked on, you can ask for a particular area to be focused on in each session.

Available are deep tissue and also relaxation massages.

Treatments

Reflexology
Reflexology treatments work with the feet, as they are a map of our body. Therefore when pressure is applied to the various points on the feet it corresponds to places on our bodies.
Through acupressure it can help restore the body's natural equilibrium and promote healing. Reflexology works best through the feet due to the body mirroring and consequentially connecting through an internal system of energies which can become congested or blocked causing it to function less effectively.

Reflexology seeks to relax tensions and direct the free flow of energy throughout the body.
While the best results are obtained by working through the feet, the hands can be used if you prefer.
Reiki
Reiki can be a hands-on or hands-off therapy, as it works by using the hands as channels for energy. Reiki is linked to the chakras that we have that are aligned along our body.
We have seven chakras that cover the heart to the throat and also the liver, stomach and other organs. A chakra is like a "wheel of energy": the chakra will spin depending on the energy level within each area.
There is a connection between the condition of a chakra and that of the corresponding organ. A chakra can be over-active, under-active or in-balance. A Reiki session can restore the chakras' balance and the organs' health.

Hands are placed on the body in specific positions to promote peace, relaxation and ultimately balance the mind, body and spirit. There is no religion or belief needed in order to benefit from Reiki - only to be open to its energy. Clients can either lay on the couch or sit in a chair.

Hopi Ear Candles

Hopi Ear Candles are named after the Native American tribe who first introduced this gentle therapy to the West - the Hopi Indians of North Arizona. It is a pleasant, gentle and non-invasive natural treatment of the ears, used to treat a variety of conditions including sinusitis, rhinitis, irritation to the ears and to clear ear wax. Hopi Ear Candles can also relieve the symptoms of hay-fever, vertigo, flu, stress and anxiety, migraines and also the pressure from flying.
A specially designed hollow candle is gently placed into the ear, where it is lit and held in a vertical position. As the candle burns, you will hear a pleasant crackling sound and get a warm comfortable feeling; some peope also experience a gentle popping sound during the treatment.
The candle acts like a chimney and is allowed to burn down until it reaches a specific marker indicated on the side.
After both ears have had the treatment, a short facial and neck massage is given - paying particular attention to the sinus areas and drainage via the lymph nodes.
Below are a list of the therapies that Blue Lagoon offers, including: Massage, Reflexology, Reiki, Indian Head and Hopi Ear Candling.
Each therapy has a unique element which can help you relieve the stresses and strains of everyday life.
There will be a consultation before each session; the first session will be to understand your background and what you want to gain from the session. Each treatment is specific to you at that moment in time. There will then be time before each treatment to get feedback and hear how you felt after the previous treatment.
Due to the therapies moving toxins around the body it is advised that you drink water afterwards, to flush out the toxins.
Indian Head

Indian Head concentrates on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face. A variety of massage movements are used in order to relieve accumulated tension, stimulate circulation and restore joint movement.

Indian Head works by using firm and gentle rhythms; it also improves circulation in the head, enhancing the senses and promoting clear thinking.
The techniques used, as well as being stimulating, relaxing and reviving for the whole of the head, also help with relieving headaches, insomnia, ear problems, muscular tension, fatigue and sinusitis.
